Business Development Manager, SE Asia
Primary Job Scope
- The BDM for SE Asia will be responsible for increasing MTech Imaging sales and market share in SE Asia. The individual will develop and advance sales opportunities for MTech products focused primarily on imaging and detection solutions. They will develop sales and technical proposals for all requirements within the region of responsibility. The BDM will manage the current distributor network in working with customers, providing training, meeting and demonstration support for in-country requirements.
General Overview of Position:
- Location is at Miltrade office in Singapore. Majority of business will be outside Singapore.
- Travel throughout the region to support opportunities. Initially plan one trip per month.
- May require an annual trip to the U.S. for planning, training and vendor visits.
- Requires an ability to become familiar with all aspects related to the operations of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Promote, advance and close the sales of MTech products into the territory. Work with management to develop realistic sales targets for 2012.
- Manage the sales process using agreed upon sales management tools and monthly reporting, to include managing a realistic sales pipeline.
- Lead and coordinate with internal Miltrade and MTech resources for shipping, ITAR-compliance, technical support and finance for business development opportunities.
- Support distributors in the region with timely responses to RFQs, RFPs, demonstrations, trade shows and meetings.
- Develop and manage the company budget for business development activities.
- Participate in weekly status meetings with management to review previous week's progress and plan for coming week.
Requirements:
- Working knowledge of thermal imaging and night vision applications and technology.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft tools, with an ability to learn and use basic CRM solutions.
- Ability to effectively communicate with defense and security decision makers whose responsibilities will range from users, technical evaluators and financial decision makers.
- An ability to work autonomously, with direct report located in the United States, and function within a matrix environment.
- Develop an 'ownership' mentality and attention to detail related to deliverables.
